Favorite Group Chalets in Saariselkä

Saariselkä's natural setting and stunning surroundings make it one of my favorite spots in Lapland. The airport is close by, and there are plenty of things to do. It's far less touristy than Rovaniemi because it's further up north, which gives you a more genuine feeling. While there are a few larger hotels in Saariselkä's center, most lodging options are comfortable cabins that can accommodate both small and large groups. These are our favorites group chalets from the several cabins we've stayed in over the past year, both with family and with friends.

Kiela 1 + 2

This is our top pick! The chalet is at a fantastic location. You have a full view of the forests because it is on the outer edges of the center. You can get to the center in ten minutes by foot or even shorter by car, but there isn't any noise from larger hotels or cafes. The lodge is surrounded by peaceful scenery and trees coated in snow. The cottage is an excellent starting point for activities because there are langlauf loipes beginning close by.

This spacious accommodation consists of two separate sections—Kiela 1 and Kiela 2—providing the perfect base for an unforgettable stay in the Arctic. Although the cottages are housed in the same structure, they are not connected inside; entry is only possible from the outside. The largest area of the lodge, Kiela 1, is intended for larger parties and families seeking seclusion and comfort. Each of the five bedrooms has an own toilet and bathroom. The basement has a single, smaller bedroom that can accommodate one adult. Although there isn't a restroom in this room, there are saunas close by where you can shower. Additionally, there is a separate restroom on this floor, saving you from having to go upstairs at night.

The focal point of the lodge is the spacious living space, which includes a long dining table ideal for eating together while admiring the expansive views of the surrounding nature. Everything you'll need is provided in the kitchen. You may easily cook while conversing with the other diners at the table because the kitchen is open. Enjoy the ultimate relaxation experience by relaxing in the basement's private sauna after a day of exploration. You can have the gorgeous fireplace playing in the background as you eat dinner or unwind on the sofa and chairs.

Kiela 2, a distinct apartment with a separate entrance, provides a cozier and more private setting. It is perfect for a youngster or an additional visitor because it has two bedrooms that can accommodate four individuals in addition to a single room.

Govadas

The Govadas Saariselkä is another fortunate discovery. Although it has a slightly different feel than the traditional log cabins, the chalet is likewise made of wood. Additionally, it just takes a few minutes to stroll from the cabin to the heart of Saariselkä. Here you will find restaurants, a supermarket and even a karaoke bar or the Irish pub if you want to experience the party scene of Lapland. For larger parties looking for convenience and comfort, Govadas offers the ideal base.

With six bedrooms and a private bathroom in each, this well-designed home offers guests the utmost privacy and convenience. The huge windows provide breathtaking views of the surrounding nature, and the comfortable living space welcomes relaxation after a day of Arctic excursions. With all the natural light the space receives, this gives the house a sensation of openness.

Kelo Saariselkä

This cabin is equally as lovely as the others, although it costs a little less. The chalet's original log-wood construction gives it a genuine Lapland feel. Even without a rental car, Kelo is in a great location and just a short stroll from Saariselkä's center. For gatherings that wish to spend a lot of time indoors together, the house is perfect.

The kitchen is large with a dining table, and the living area is spacious.Although not every room has a private bathroom, Kelo's six bedrooms provide plenty of space.
Nonetheless, the distinct hallway and well-planned design guarantee that there is little disruption from the living space, promoting both seclusion and social interaction.
