Santa Claus Village Rovaniemi

Santa Claus Village Rovaniemi

Santa Claus Village is arguably one of the most visited locations in Finnish Lapland, especially in Rovaniemi. This is a unique experience for all travelers who have children, as well as those who are traveling without them. Although Santa Claus' hometown is Santa Claus Village, there is much more to see and do here.

Santa Claus Village

The admission to Santa Claus Village is totally free. You can expect to feel the warmth of Santa Claus at every corner of the village. Elves will be seen roaming the village to add to the festive atmosphere. For children, Santa Claus Village is an absolute utopia. They can send their handwritten notes and drawings to Santa Claus' Main Post Office. Even larger packages can be mailed from here, with a unique Arctic Circle stamp as a memento. Fun fact: Every year, Santa receives around half a million letters at this post office, which are then sent to their rightful destinations all over the world!

Santa Claus Village wouldn't be the same without Santa Claus himself. All year round it's possible to have a meet & greet with Santa Claus and it's even free! This will make a truly unique experience especially when traveling with little kids.

Arctic Circle

An imaginary line at roughly 66.5 degrees north latitude is known as the Arctic Circle. It marks the edge of the Arctic area and is one of the five main latitude markers on a global map. This unique line separates regions where the sun does not set for 24 hours during one time of the year (midnight sun) and those where it does not rise for 24 hours during another (polar night, or Kaamos).
This line passes right through Santa Claus Village in Rovaniemi, which adds to its uniqueness. You can actually cross the Arctic Circle here, thanks to this! In Santa Claus Village, you can even get an official certificate to mark this remarkable occasion as a unique memento.
